For over two centuries the U.S. Coast Guard has safeguarded our Nation’s maritime interests in the heartland, in the ports, at sea, and around the globe. The Coast Guard protects the maritime economy and environment, defends our maritime borders and saves those in peril. This history has forged their character and purpose as America’s Maritime Guardian — “Semper Paratus—Always Ready.”

The Legend-class National Security Cutter is the centerpiece of the Coast Guard’s fleet, capable of executing the most challenging operations, including supporting maritime homeland security and defense missions.

Coast Guard Cutter HAMILTON  will be the fourth cutter of the class and will be home ported in North Charleston, South Carolina.

HAMILTON is scheduled to  arrive in November 2014; the commissioning ceremony is set for 6 December 2014.
